UK Casino Payment Methods and Fast Withdrawals
How we earn: some casino links on this page may pay us a commission if you sign up. It costs you nothing and never moves a casino up our list. We list only UK Gambling Commission licensed casinos. 18+. Full disclosure.
Quick answer UK casinos can take debit cards, bank transfers and other methods, but not credit cards. Credit cards have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020. Before you deposit, check which methods the casino accepts, which ones qualify for its offer, and how withdrawals work.

Can you use a credit card at a UK online casino?
No. The Gambling Commission banned gambling businesses in Great Britain from accepting credit cards for gambling from 14 April 2020. Any GB-licensed casino must refuse a credit card deposit. If a site accepts one, treat that as a warning sign and check its licence on the UKGC register before going any further.
The ban was introduced after the Commission reviewed online gambling and the harm linked to gambling with borrowed money. It covers credit cards used directly. It is one of the reasons debit cards and bank transfers are now the most common ways to pay at UK casinos.
Gambling with borrowed money is a sign that gambling may be causing harm. If you find yourself looking for ways around the credit card ban, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open 24/7.
What should you check before choosing a payment method?
Check four things: whether the casino accepts the method for both deposits and withdrawals, whether it qualifies for any offer you want, whether there are fees, and how long withdrawals take according to the casino's own terms. Each casino sets its own rules, so check on its cashier or payments page.
- Deposits and withdrawals. Some methods only work one way. You may need a different method to cash out.
- Offer eligibility. Many welcome offers only count certain methods. Unibet's verified offer, for example, qualifies only with a debit card or instant bank transfer.
- Fees and limits. Minimum and maximum amounts vary by method and by casino.
- Withdrawal times. These depend on the casino's own processing and on the method. Read the casino's terms rather than a headline claim.
- Verification. Casinos must check who you are. Having your documents ready can prevent delays.

Which payment methods do the casinos in our table accept?
On 29 September 2026 we read banking facts on the casinos' own pages for several brands in our table. bet365 lists debit card, Apple Pay, Pay by Bank and e-wallets from £5. Betway lists debit cards, PayPal, e-wallets and open banking. LeoVegas lists Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay and Open Banking. PlayOJO lists Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Trustly, Paysafecard and instant bank transfer. Unibet's payment logos show Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Trustly, and Sky Casino's show Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For Unibet's welcome offer only debit card or instant bank transfer deposits qualify, and Grosvenor's offer excludes PayPal and Paysafe deposits. We have no verified banking facts for Mr Vegas or William Hill Vegas.
That may look thin compared with sites that list a dozen logos for every casino. Payment options change, some are restricted by country, and some are available for deposits only. We would rather leave a field empty than tell you a method works when it may not.
The ten casinos in our table, each with an active UKGC licence, are Unibet, bet365, Betway, Grosvenor Casinos, LeoVegas, Mr Vegas, 888casino, PlayOJO, Sky Casino and William Hill Vegas. You can see their licence details on our casino comparison page.
Which guides are in this section?
This section links every payment guide we publish. Each one explains how a method or topic works, what to check in the casino's cashier and terms, and which rules apply. A guide only names a casino against a method once we have confirmed it on that casino's own pages.

What decides how fast a casino withdrawal arrives?
Three stages decide it: the casino's own processing time, any identity or security checks, and the time your payment method takes to move the money. The casino controls the first two. Check its withdrawal terms for processing times, and complete verification early so it does not hold up your first withdrawal.
Some practical steps help:
- Verify your account before you need to withdraw.
- Withdraw to the same method you deposited with where the casino requires it.
- Read the casino's terms for pending periods and any daily or monthly limits.
- Keep records of deposits and withdrawals so you can raise a query if something goes wrong.
If a withdrawal is delayed and the casino cannot explain why, raise a complaint with the casino first. If that does not resolve it, the casino's terms will name its alternative dispute resolution provider.
Do you pay tax on casino winnings you withdraw?
Gambling winnings are generally not taxed for UK players. Gov.uk lists betting, lottery or pools winnings among the things you do not pay Capital Gains Tax on. This is not tax advice, and if your situation is unusual you should check with HMRC or a qualified adviser.
We plan a separate guide called Are Gambling Winnings Taxed in the UK? which will go into more detail and link to the gov.uk source.
Which payment method types can you use at UK casinos?
UK casinos commonly offer debit cards, e-wallets such as PayPal, pay by bank services such as Trustly, Apple Pay and Google Pay, prepaid vouchers such as paysafecard, and pay by mobile. Which of these a casino supports, and for what, varies by casino. Credit cards are the one type no GB-licensed casino can accept.

| Method type | How it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Debit card | Pays directly from your bank account using your card | Whether withdrawals go back to the same card, and whether it qualifies for the offer |
| PayPal and other e-wallets | You pay from an e-wallet account linked to your bank or card | Whether the casino allows it for withdrawals and whether it is excluded from the offer |
| Pay by bank (for example Trustly) | You approve a payment in your own banking app or site | Whether the same route is used for withdrawals and which banks are supported |
| Apple Pay and Google Pay | You pay with a card stored on your phone | Withdrawals often need another method, so check the cashier page first |
| paysafecard | A prepaid voucher or account, paid for in advance | Deposit only at many casinos, so you may need another way to withdraw |
| Pay by mobile | The deposit is added to your phone bill or taken from phone credit | Usually deposit only, with small limits set by the casino or provider |
| Credit card | Not available | Banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020 |
This table describes each type in general. It does not say that any casino in our table supports a given method. We will name a casino against a method only after checking its own payments page.
Can you withdraw to a different method than you deposited with?
Often not. Many casinos ask you to withdraw to the method you deposited with where that method supports withdrawals. Deposit-only methods, such as prepaid vouchers and pay by mobile, usually mean you need a second method, such as a bank transfer, to cash out. The casino's withdrawal terms set the rule.
The practical step is to choose your method with withdrawals in mind. Before your first deposit, open the cashier page and check which methods appear under withdrawals as well as deposits. If your preferred method is deposit only, add a withdrawal method and verify your account early.
What does fast withdrawal really mean?
A fast withdrawal claim describes the best case, not your case. The time you wait depends on the casino's own processing, any identity or security checks, and your payment method. Only the casino's withdrawal terms tell you its stated processing time, so read them rather than trusting a headline on a comparison site.
We have not timed any withdrawals, but on 29 September 2026 we read what some casinos state about their own processing. bet365 says it aims to process in 4 hours, up to 24 hours. Betway says it processes withdrawals within 24 hours, although timing may vary at weekends, with a £5 minimum on debit card and PayPal (a lower balance can be withdrawn with a £1 fee). LeoVegas says it can take up to five business days depending on your method. PlayOJO says: "We process 95% of withdrawal requests within minutes, though the time it takes to appear in your account may differ between payment providers." These are the casinos' own claims, each with a source and a date, so treat any single number you see elsewhere with care.
Are prepaid and pay by mobile methods good for staying in control?
They can help, because you can only spend what you have loaded or what the provider allows. Prepaid vouchers and pay by mobile keep gambling payments separate from your main card. They are not a substitute for a deposit limit in your casino account, which caps spending whatever method you use.
- Set a deposit limit in your casino account before your first deposit.
- Check whether your bank app offers a gambling block on your debit card.
- Keep one method for gambling so your spending is easy to track.
- Never borrow to gamble. If you feel you need to, that is a sign to stop and talk to someone.
Why might a casino ask for ID before a withdrawal?
Licensed casinos have to know who their customers are, and some checks happen before your first withdrawal. You may be asked for proof of identity, address or payment method. Completing these checks early, before you have a balance to withdraw, is the simplest way to avoid a delay when you want your money.
The casino's terms and help pages explain which documents it accepts. Upload clear copies, make sure names match across your account and payment method, and keep a note of when you sent them. If a request seems unusual, contact the casino's support through its own website.
Are there fees for casino deposits and withdrawals?
It depends on the casino and the method. Some casinos charge nothing, others may charge on certain methods or on withdrawals below a set amount, and your payment provider may have its own fees. We do not publish fees for any casino yet, because we have not verified them on each casino's own pages.
Check the cashier page and the payment terms before your first deposit. Look for fees on deposits, fees on withdrawals, minimum and maximum amounts, and any currency conversion charges if your account is not in pounds. If the terms do not mention fees at all, ask the casino's support before you pay in.
Fees and limits can change, so recheck them if you have not used a casino for a while. A method that was free last year may not be free now, and a new method may have been added.
How do you make a casino withdrawal, step by step?
Verify your account first, then request the withdrawal from the cashier to the same method you deposited with where possible. Check the casino's stated pending period, keep a note of the request date and amount, and do not cancel or reverse the request to keep playing. Most delays come from missing checks, not the payment itself.
- Complete verification early. Upload any identity or address documents the casino asks for before you need to withdraw.
- Check any active bonus. Withdrawing while wagering is incomplete may forfeit the bonus. Read the offer terms first.
- Open the cashier and choose withdraw. The casino will usually suggest the method you deposited with.
- Enter the amount. Note any minimum withdrawal shown in the cashier.
- Record the request. Write down the date, time, amount and reference.
- Leave it pending. If the casino lets you reverse a pending withdrawal, leave the request alone rather than playing the money back.
- Check your statement. Once the casino marks the payment as sent, your bank or provider controls the last step.
- Chase in writing. If it takes longer than the time the casino states, contact support and ask for the reason and the casino's complaints procedure.
How do the main payment method types compare?
Debit cards and bank transfers can usually both deposit and withdraw. E-wallets usually can too, if the casino supports them. Prepaid vouchers and pay by mobile are usually deposit only, so you need a second method to withdraw. Credit cards cannot be used at all. The casino's own cashier is the final word for each method.
| Method type | Deposit | Withdraw | What to check in the cashier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debit card | Usually yes | Usually yes | Processing time and any minimum |
| Bank transfer or pay by bank | Usually yes | Usually yes | Whether it is listed for withdrawals as well as deposits |
| E-wallet | Where offered | Where offered | Whether the method qualifies for the bonus you want |
| Prepaid voucher | Usually yes | Usually no | Which method you will use to withdraw |
| Pay by mobile | Usually yes | Usually no | Deposit caps and the withdrawal method |
| Credit card | No, banned since 14 April 2020 | No | Not applicable |
This table describes how each type generally works, not what any named casino offers. We only say a casino accepts a method after checking its own pages. So far that covers the banking pages of bet365, Betway, LeoVegas and PlayOJO, the payment logos of Unibet, Sky Casino and 888casino, and the qualifying methods in verified offers, such as Unibet's (debit card or instant bank transfer only), all checked 29 September 2026.
How can you track what you pay in and take out?
Keep a simple running record of every deposit and withdrawal, or use the transaction history in your casino account. Subtract total withdrawals from total deposits to see your net position. A worked example makes it clear, and seeing the real figure is one of the most effective ways to stay within a budget.
| Date | Deposit | Withdrawal | Running net position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | £20 | £0 | minus £20 |
| Week 2 | £20 | £15 | minus £25 |
| Week 3 | £10 | £0 | minus £35 |
| Week 4 | £0 | £30 | minus £5 |
These figures are made up to show the method. In this example the player paid in £50 and took out £45, so the month cost £5. Many people find the number is higher than they guessed, which is why a deposit limit set in advance is worth more than a record kept afterwards.
What should you do if a withdrawal is taking too long?
First check the casino's stated pending and processing times and whether it has asked you for documents. If both are clear and the payment is still late, contact customer support in writing and ask for a reason and an expected date. If that does not resolve it, use the casino's formal complaints procedure, set out in its terms.
- Keep copies of your withdrawal request, emails and chat transcripts.
- Check your spam folder for verification requests.
- Do not open a new account elsewhere to keep playing while you wait.
- Only use casinos licensed by the UKGC. Our casino reviews list each licence number from the public register.
Does the payment method affect which bonuses you can claim?
It can. Some offers name the payment methods that qualify, and deposits made with other methods may not trigger the bonus. Unibet's verified offer, for example, accepts only debit card or instant bank transfer. Read the qualifying methods in the significant terms before you deposit, not after.
Our casino bonuses hub explains the other significant terms, including the 10x wagering cap in force since 19 January 2026.
How do minimum deposits and minimum withdrawals work?
A minimum deposit is the smallest amount the cashier will accept in one payment. A minimum withdrawal is the smallest amount you can take out. Both are set by the casino, can differ by payment method, and are shown in the cashier or the payment terms. Check both before you deposit, not when you want to withdraw.
A worked example shows why the withdrawal minimum matters. Say, hypothetically, a cashier lists a £10 minimum withdrawal. If your balance is £8, you cannot withdraw it until it reaches £10, which can tempt you to keep playing. Knowing the figure in advance lets you decide whether that suits you before you pay in anything.
- Check the minimum deposit for the method you plan to use.
- Check the minimum withdrawal and whether it differs by method.
- Check whether a bonus needs a higher qualifying deposit than the cashier minimum.
Our low deposit casinos guide explains how to find these figures in a casino's cashier.
How can payment settings help you stay in control?
Deposit limits are the most direct tool. Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap in your casino account before your first deposit. Many UK banks also let you block gambling transactions on your debit card from their app. Both give you a pause between an impulse and a deposit.
You must be 18 or over to gamble online in Great Britain. For free support, contact the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or visit BeGambleAware. Our safer gambling page covers every tool in detail.
Your questions, answered
Can I use a credit card at a UK online casino?
No. The Gambling Commission banned gambling businesses in Great Britain from accepting credit cards for gambling from 14 April 2020. If a site accepts a credit card deposit, check its licence on the UKGC register before going further.
Which payment methods qualify for casino bonuses?
It depends on each offer. For Unibet's verified welcome offer, only debit card or instant bank transfer deposits qualify, and Grosvenor's excludes PayPal and Paysafe deposits (both checked 29 September 2026). Always read the qualifying methods on the casino's own promotions page.
What controls how fast a casino withdrawal arrives?
Three things: the casino's own processing time, any identity or security checks, and how long your payment method takes to move money. Verify your account early and read the casino's withdrawal terms for processing times and limits.
Do I pay tax on money I withdraw from a casino?
Gambling winnings are generally not taxed for UK players. Gov.uk lists betting, lottery or pools winnings among things you do not pay Capital Gains Tax on. This is not tax advice; check with HMRC or an adviser if your situation is unusual.
Which payment method types do UK casinos use?
Common types are debit cards, e-wallets such as PayPal, pay by bank services such as Trustly, Apple Pay and Google Pay, paysafecard and pay by mobile. Each casino chooses its own list, so check its cashier page. Credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
Often not. Many casinos ask you to withdraw to the method you deposited with where it supports withdrawals. Deposit-only methods, such as prepaid vouchers and pay by mobile, usually mean you need a second method to cash out. The casino's withdrawal terms set the rule.
What is the first step to a smooth casino withdrawal?
Verify your account before you need to withdraw. Upload any identity or address documents the casino asks for early, then request withdrawals to the method you deposited with where possible. Most delays come from missing checks rather than from the payment itself.
Can I withdraw to a prepaid voucher or phone bill?
Usually not. Prepaid vouchers and pay by mobile are generally deposit only, so the casino will ask you to use another method, such as a debit card or bank account, to withdraw. Check the casino's cashier to see which withdrawal methods it lists.
