UK Casino Bonuses: Offers, Terms and the 10x Wagering Cap
How we earn: some casino links on this page may pay us a commission if you sign up. It costs you nothing and never moves a casino up our list. We list only UK Gambling Commission licensed casinos. 18+. Full disclosure.
Quick answer UK casino bonuses changed on 19 January 2026. Wagering is now capped at 10 times, and bonuses that make you play different products, such as betting and slots, are banned. Read the significant terms before you opt in, and treat any bonus as extra play, not extra money.

What are the UK rules on casino bonuses now?
Two Gambling Commission rules have applied to every GB-licensed casino since 19 January 2026. Bonus wagering requirements are capped at 10 times, and mixed-product promotions are banned. Any offer asking for more than 10x wagering, or asking you to bet on sport to unlock casino spins, does not meet the current rules.
| Rule | What it means for you | In force from |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering cap | You cannot be asked to wager a bonus more than 10 times before you can withdraw. | 19 January 2026 |
| Mixed-product ban | An offer cannot require you to play different products, such as betting and slots, to unlock it. | 19 January 2026 |
| Credit card ban | You cannot use a credit card to gamble, so you cannot use one to claim a bonus. | 14 April 2020 |
| Minimum age | You must be 18 or over to gamble online in Great Britain. | In force |
The cap makes offers simpler to understand, but it does not make them free money. You still stake your own deposit first, and the casino still keeps its edge on every spin.
What are significant terms and where do you find them?
Significant terms are the conditions that most affect whether a bonus is worth claiming. They include the minimum deposit, the wagering, the eligible games, the expiry, the maximum stake and the payment methods that qualify. They should appear close to the offer itself, not buried in the full terms and conditions.
- Qualifying deposit and stake. How much you must deposit and play to trigger the offer.
- Wagering. How many times you must play through the bonus. Now capped at 10x.
- Expiry. How long you have to claim the offer and to use it.
- Eligible games. Free spins are usually tied to one slot. Game contribution to wagering can vary.
- Payment methods. Some methods may not qualify, so check before you deposit.
- Maximum stake and maximum win. Limits on what you can bet with bonus funds and what you can take out.

We read all six offers on each casino's own website from a UK connection on 29 September 2026. The order follows our table and is not a ranking, and no scores are published yet. Where a cell says "not stated", the casino's offer text does not state that term, which is not the same as saying there is no such limit. Offers change often, so read the live terms before you deposit.
Two other casinos in our table, bet365 and Betway, showed no casino welcome offer on their sites when we checked that day, although we did verify their banking facts. We could not read the offers for Mr Vegas (the site refused the connection) or William Hill Vegas (the offer text did not load), so those two offers are not yet verified and we show no figures for them.
Grosvenor's wagering works differently from the spin offers, because it applies to the deposit and the bonus together. A worked example using its own figures: you deposit £20 and receive the £40 bonus. That is £60 in total (£20 + £40). At 10x, you need to wager £600 (10 x £60) before bonus funds and winnings become withdrawable. Only slots count in full. At 10% for live casino, £10 staked on a live table counts as £1 towards the £600; at 50% for jackpot games, £10 counts as £5. Compare that with Unibet or 888casino, where the 10x applies only to spin winnings or the bonus amount, so the play-through can be much smaller.
Which guides are in this section?
This section links every casino bonus guide we publish. Each one explains a single offer type, the terms that matter, and how the 10x wagering cap changes the maths. Guides only name a casino's offer once we have read it on that casino's own terms page, and they say plainly where we have not.

How do you work out what a bonus is really worth?
Start with the qualifying deposit and stake, then look at the wagering. With the Unibet offer, 300 spins at £0.10 each have a face value of £30. Any winnings from those spins then carry 10x wagering. The real value depends on what the spins win, which you cannot know in advance. Compare LeoVegas and PlayOJO, where 50 spins carry no wagering at all, so whatever they win is yours to withdraw under the rest of the terms.
A simple way to think about any bonus:
- Write down what you must deposit and stake. That money is at risk whatever happens.
- Work out the face value of the bonus or spins.
- Multiply any bonus winnings by the wagering to see how much you must play through.
- Check the expiry. A short window pushes you to play faster than you might want to.
- Ask whether you would have deposited that amount anyway. If not, skip the offer.
Can you still get sports and casino bonuses together?
Not in a single offer that requires both. Since 19 January 2026, GB operators cannot offer bonuses that require you to play different products, such as betting and slots, to unlock them. A casino can still run separate offers for its sportsbook and its casino, but one cannot depend on the other.
If you see an offer that asks for a bet on football before you get casino spins, check the date and the operator. It may be an old page, or it may not come from a GB-licensed site. Our casino reviews only cover casinos with an active licence on the UKGC register.
What types of casino bonus are there?
Most UK casino offers fall into five types: a welcome deposit match, free spins, no wagering offers, no deposit offers, and reload or loyalty rewards. Each works differently, and each has its own terms to check. The table below explains how each type usually works in general terms, not the offer at any particular casino.

| Bonus type | How it usually works | What to check first |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome deposit match | The casino adds bonus funds based on your first deposit | The wagering (10x at most), the maximum bonus, and which games count |
| Free spins | A set number of spins at a fixed value on one named slot | The spin value, the named game, the spin expiry and wagering on winnings |
| No wagering | Winnings from the offer are paid as cash you can withdraw | Any cap on winnings, the qualifying stake and the expiry |
| No deposit | A small bonus or spins given without a deposit, usually on sign-up | Winning caps, verification steps and whether a deposit is needed to withdraw |
| Reload and loyalty | Offers for existing customers, such as extra spins or rewards for play | Whether the offer pushes you to deposit or play more than you planned |
Whatever the type, the same two rules apply at every GB-licensed casino. Wagering cannot exceed 10 times, and no offer can require you to play different products to unlock it. If a page says otherwise, it is out of date or the site is not GB-licensed.
What does 10x wagering mean in practice?
Wagering is how much you must stake before bonus money or bonus winnings become cash you can withdraw. At 10x, you multiply the bonus amount by ten. As a simple example, if free spins win £20 with 10x wagering, you would need to stake £200 in total before withdrawing. That is the most any GB offer can now ask.
Three things change how that works out:
- What the multiple applies to. Some offers apply wagering to the bonus only, others to spin winnings. The terms say which.
- Game contribution. Some games may count less than 100% towards wagering, so you would need to stake more on them.
- Maximum stake. Offers often limit how much you can bet per spin while wagering, and slot stakes are capped at £5 or £2 per spin anyway.
Each spin you play to clear wagering carries the game's normal house edge. A lower multiple means less play, not a better chance of winning.
What is the difference between no wagering and no deposit offers?
A no wagering offer pays winnings as cash with no playthrough, but usually needs a deposit or stake first. A no deposit offer gives you a small bonus or spins without paying in, but usually carries caps on what you can win and withdraw. The names describe different things, and an offer can be one without the other.
We cover each in its own guide: no wagering casinos and no deposit bonuses. The short version is simple: read the significant terms, look for any cap on winnings, and check whether you must verify your identity or make a deposit before you can withdraw anything.
What bonus terms should make you walk away?
Walk away from any offer that asks for more than 10x wagering, requires a sports bet to unlock casino play, accepts credit card deposits, or hides its terms behind several clicks. Also be wary of very short expiry windows that push you to play fast. Each one is either against current rules or designed to keep you playing.
- Wagering above 10x. The cap has applied since 19 January 2026.
- Any link between a sportsbook bet and a casino bonus.
- Credit card deposits, which are banned for gambling in Great Britain.
- Significant terms you cannot find next to the offer.
- Language that suggests you cannot lose. Every bonus involves staking real money.
If an offer passes these checks, it still only makes sense if you would have deposited that amount anyway. Our rating method explains how we will score offers once we have verified them.
How will we verify the other casinos' offers?
We will open each casino's own promotions page, read the full significant terms, and record the offer, wagering, expiry, eligible games and qualifying payment methods with the date we checked. Only then does the offer appear on this site. Figures from other review sites or adverts are never used as a source.
If a casino's terms are unclear, we leave the offer blank and say so. If an offer breaks a current rule, such as wagering above 10x, we do not show it. When an offer changes, the old figures come down and the new ones go up with a fresh date.
Do bonus rules differ for slots and live games?
The 10x cap and the mixed-product ban apply to every casino bonus in Great Britain, whatever the game. What varies is each offer's own terms: which games count, how much each game contributes to wagering, and the maximum stake while wagering. Slots offers are the most common, and live games are often limited or excluded.
How does 10x wagering work on a £10 bonus?
Multiply the bonus by the wagering. A £10 bonus with 10x wagering means you must stake £100 in total on eligible games before the bonus, or what is left of it, can become withdrawable cash. The £100 is turnover, not money you pay in again: the same pounds are staked repeatedly as you play.
Here is how that £100 of turnover breaks down at different stake sizes. The figures are a worked example, not the terms of any casino.
| Stake per spin | Spins needed to reach £100 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| £0.10 | 1,000 | Slow, but each spin risks very little |
| £0.50 | 200 | A common middle ground |
| £1.00 | 100 | Quicker, but bigger swings in your balance |
| £2.00 | 50 | The per spin maximum for 18 to 24 year olds on online slots |
You will not usually reach the end with exactly £10. Every spin carries the game's house edge, so the balance tends to drift down as you wager. As a clearly labelled example, if a slot had an RTP of 96%, the long run cost of staking £100 would be about £4 (4% of £100). Short sessions can land far above or below that figure.
How does game contribution change the amount you must stake?
Game contribution is the share of each stake that counts towards wagering. If a game counts 100%, a £1 bet clears £1 of wagering. If it counts 50%, a £1 bet clears only 50p, so you must stake twice as much. The offer's terms list the contribution for each game type.
| Example contribution | Real stakes needed to clear £100 | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 100% | £100 | Every pound staked counts in full |
| 50% | £200 | Twice the play for the same bonus |
| 20% | £500 | Five times the play |
| 0% | Cannot be cleared on that game | Stakes on excluded games do not count at all |
The percentages above are examples to show the maths. The real figures differ by casino and by offer, so read the contribution table in the significant terms before you pick a game to play the bonus on.
What did the 10x cap change compared with higher wagering?
The cap limits how much play a bonus can demand. Before 19 January 2026, GB offers could set higher multiples. Now no offer can ask for more than 10 times. On the same £10 bonus, a lower multiple means far less turnover, fewer spins exposed to the house edge and less time spent chasing a target.
| Wagering multiple | Turnover needed | Allowed for GB offers now? |
|---|---|---|
| 35x (illustration only) | £350 | No, above the cap |
| 20x (illustration only) | £200 | No, above the cap |
| 10x | £100 | Yes, the maximum |
| 5x | £50 | Yes |
| 0x (no wagering) | £0 | Yes |
The 35x and 20x rows are there only to show the maths of higher multiples. They are not the terms of any casino we list. If you see a current GB offer above 10x, it breaks the rules and you should not claim it.
How do you value a free spins offer?
Multiply the number of spins by the value of each spin. That gives the face value, the total amount the spins stake for you. It is not what you will win. Winnings from the spins are then subject to any wagering, maximum win and expiry in the terms, all of which reduce what you can take out.
- Verified example. Unibet's offer of 300 spins at £0.10 each has a face value of £30 (300 x £0.10), after you deposit and stake £30 on slots. PlayOJO's 50 spins at £0.10 each have a face value of £5 (50 x £0.10).
- Hypothetical example. An offer of 50 spins at £0.20 each would have a face value of £10 (50 x £0.20).
- What reduces value. A short spin expiry, a cap on winnings, or a qualifying stake you would not otherwise have made.
What should you check in the five minutes before you opt in?
Check five things: the qualifying deposit and stake, the wagering multiple, the eligible games and contribution, the expiry dates, and the payment methods that qualify. Then set a deposit limit. If any of those details are missing from the page next to the offer, do not opt in until you have found them.
- Confirm the casino is on the UKGC register. Our casino reviews list the licence number for each casino we cover.
- Read the significant terms next to the offer, not only the headline.
- Work out the turnover: bonus multiplied by wagering, no more than 10x.
- Check the game contribution for the games you actually want to play.
- Note the claim window and the expiry of any spins or bonus funds.
- Check your payment method qualifies. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in Great Britain.
- Set a deposit limit in your account before you pay in.
Can a bonus delay your withdrawal?
It can. While a bonus is active, some terms treat part of your balance as bonus funds until wagering is complete, and withdrawing early may forfeit the bonus. The terms of each offer say how cash and bonus balances interact. If in doubt, ask customer support before you play, and keep a screenshot of the answer.
Identity checks can also come before a withdrawal. Our payment methods hub explains what affects withdrawal times, and our rating method explains how we record offer terms once we have verified them.
Are winnings from a casino bonus taxed?
Winnings are generally not taxed for UK players. Gov.uk lists betting, lottery or pools winnings among the things you do not pay Capital Gains Tax on, and bonus winnings you withdraw are winnings like any other. This is not tax advice, so check your own position if your circumstances are unusual.
How do bonuses fit with safer gambling?
A bonus is a marketing tool designed to get you playing. Only claim one if you would have deposited that amount anyway, set a deposit limit first, and never chase the wagering. If a bonus makes you play longer or spend more than you planned, walk away from it.
You must be 18 or over. Free, confidential help is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, 24/7, and from BeGambleAware. See our safer gambling page for deposit limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP.
Your questions, answered
What is the maximum wagering on a UK casino bonus?
Since 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission caps bonus wagering at 10 times for GB-licensed operators. A casino cannot require you to play a bonus through more than ten times before you can withdraw winnings from it.
Can a casino make me bet on sport to get free spins?
No. Since 19 January 2026, GB operators cannot offer bonuses that require you to play different products, such as betting and slots, to unlock them. Sportsbook and casino offers can still exist, but one cannot depend on the other.
Which casino bonuses have you verified?
Six, all checked 29 September 2026: Unibet, Grosvenor, 888casino, LeoVegas, PlayOJO and Sky Casino. LeoVegas and PlayOJO carry no wagering on spin winnings. bet365 and Betway showed no casino welcome offer that day, and Mr Vegas and William Hill Vegas offers are not yet verified.
Can I claim a casino bonus with a credit card?
No. Gambling businesses in Great Britain have been banned from accepting credit cards for gambling since 14 April 2020. Check which methods qualify for an offer; Unibet's verified offer, for example, accepts only debit card or instant bank transfer.
Is a casino bonus free money?
No. You usually have to deposit and stake your own money first, the casino keeps its edge on every game, and winnings carry wagering. Only claim a bonus if you would have deposited that amount anyway, and set a deposit limit first.
What is the difference between no wagering and no deposit bonuses?
A no wagering offer pays winnings as cash with no playthrough, but usually needs a deposit or stake first. A no deposit offer needs no payment, but usually caps what you can win and withdraw. Read the significant terms of each offer before you claim it.
How much do I need to stake to clear a £10 bonus at 10x?
£100 in total on games that count 100% towards wagering. The £100 is turnover, so the same money is staked repeatedly. If a game counts only 50%, you would need to stake £200. Check the offer's contribution table first.
How do I work out the value of free spins?
Multiply the number of spins by the value of each spin. Unibet's 300 spins at £0.10 each have a face value of £30. That is the amount the spins stake for you, not what you will win, and any wagering, expiry or win cap reduces what you can withdraw.
