No Deposit Casino Bonus UK

How we earn: some casino links on this page may pay us a commission if you sign up. It costs you nothing and never moves a casino up our list. We list only UK Gambling Commission licensed casinos. 18+. Full disclosure.

Quick answer A no deposit casino bonus gives you a small amount of free spins or bonus funds for registering, before you add money. In the UK you must be 18 or over and pass age and identity checks first, wagering cannot exceed 10x, and winnings are usually capped. None of the six welcome offers we verified on 29 September 2026 is a no deposit offer; all need a deposit.

No deposit casino bonus UK explained
No deposit bonuses in the UK: verification first, wagering capped at 10x, terms on the casino’s own page.

Key takeaways

  • A no deposit bonus is credited for signing up, without a qualifying deposit.
  • All online gambling businesses must verify your age and identity before you gamble, so checks come first (UKGC).
  • Any wagering on a UK no deposit bonus is capped at 10 times since 19 January 2026.
  • No deposit offers commonly limit the slot, the spin value, the expiry and the amount you can win.
  • None of the six welcome offers we verified on 29 September 2026 (Unibet, Grosvenor, 888casino, LeoVegas, PlayOJO and Sky Casino) is a no deposit offer. All need a deposit.

What is a no deposit casino bonus?

A no deposit casino bonus is an offer credited to a new account without you making a qualifying deposit. It usually comes as a set number of free spins on a named slot or a small amount of bonus funds. You still need to register, pass age and identity checks, and meet any wagering before winnings become withdrawable.

The appeal is obvious: you get to try a casino before you put money in. The limits are just as important. Because the casino is giving play away, no deposit offers are usually small and carry tighter terms than deposit offers.

The common forms are:

  • Free spins no deposit. A number of spins at a fixed value on one slot, credited after registration.
  • Bonus funds no deposit. A small bonus balance you can use on eligible games.
  • No deposit, no wagering spins. Spins where winnings are paid as cash, often with a cap.

Some offers are credited automatically; others need you to opt in or enter a code. The casino’s own terms page will say which.

What UK rules apply to no deposit bonuses?

No deposit bonuses sit under the same Gambling Commission rules as every other incentive. Wagering cannot exceed 10 times, an offer cannot include more than one product type, and terms must be clear, transparent, fair and readily accessible. You must also be 18 or over and verified before you can gamble.

Rule Source What it means for a no deposit offer
Minimum age 18 UKGC You cannot claim or play any offer if you are under 18.
Verify before you gamble UKGC age and ID guide You must pass checks before the spins or funds can be played.
Wagering capped at 10x LCCP SR Code 5.1.1, from 19 January 2026 Any play-through on no deposit winnings cannot exceed 10 times.
One product per incentive LCCP SR Code 5.1.1, from 19 January 2026 A casino no deposit offer cannot require betting or bingo play.
Clear and accessible terms LCCP SR Code 5.1.1 Caps, expiry and games should be clear before you sign up.
Slot stake limits UKGC, from April and May 2025 £5 per spin for 25 and over, £2 per spin for 18 to 24.

The rules make offers simpler, but they do not make them free of cost. Any money you later deposit to keep playing is your own and can be lost.

Why do you have to verify before a no deposit bonus?

The Gambling Commission says all online gambling businesses must ask you to prove your age and identity before you gamble, and a customer cannot place a bet until they have been verified. A no deposit bonus is still gambling, so checks come first. Many casinos can verify you electronically; some will ask for documents.

The Commission lists three reasons casinos ask for ID: to check you are old enough, to check whether you have self-excluded, and to confirm your identity. It says casinos can often match your details against credit reference agency data and the electoral roll. If that is not enough, you may be asked for a passport, driving licence or household bill.

Verification also protects no deposit offers from abuse. In its decision on wagering, the Commission noted that some organised groups use systems to collect large numbers of offers, and said it expects licensees to have robust registration and Know Your Customer checks. That is why no deposit offers are limited to one per person and why duplicate accounts are refused.

The Commission also says a casino should not wait until you ask to withdraw to request information it could have asked for earlier, unless a legal obligation means it can only ask at that point.

Which UKGC-licensed casinos can you compare?

Every casino in our table holds an active UK Gambling Commission remote casino licence that we checked on the public register. We read the welcome offers of six of them on their own pages on 29 September 2026: Unibet, Grosvenor, 888casino, LeoVegas, PlayOJO and Sky Casino. None is a no deposit bonus; every one needs a deposit, from £10 at LeoVegas, PlayOJO, Sky Casino and 888casino (match option) up to £30 at Unibet. bet365 and Betway showed no casino welcome offer that day, and Mr Vegas and William Hill Vegas offers are not yet verified.

Order: casinos whose welcome offer we have read on their own site come first; the rest follow. Offers and banking facts were read from each operator's UK site on the date shown. Licence numbers link to each operator's entry on the Gambling Commission public register.

If a listed casino advertises a no deposit offer, read the terms on its own promotions page before you register. We will add no deposit figures only after reading and dating those terms. See how we rate for our method.

How does Unibet’s offer compare with a no deposit bonus?

Unibet’s offer is a deposit offer, not a no deposit one, like all six we verified. New GB customers get 300 free spins at £0.10 each on Big Bass Splash after depositing and staking £30 on slots, with 10x wagering. You must claim within 7 days and the spins expire 48 hours after crediting. We checked it on 29 September 2026.

Term Unibet deposit offer (verified) Typical no deposit structure
Do you deposit first? Yes: deposit and stake £30 on slots No
What you get 300 x £0.10 spins on Big Bass Splash (£30 face value) A small number of spins or a small bonus balance
Wagering 10x Up to 10x, or none
Expiry Claim within 7 days; spins expire in 48 hours Usually a short use window
Winnings cap Not stated in the offer text Commonly capped
Payments Debit card or instant bank transfer only May need a verified payment method to withdraw

The right column describes how no deposit offers are commonly built, not the terms of any named casino. Always read the actual terms. If you want the lowest outlay rather than no deposit at all, PlayOJO’s 50 spins on a £10 first deposit and LeoVegas’s 50 spins (deposit £10, wager £10 once) both carry no wagering on winnings, as each operator stated on 29 September 2026.

What terms should you check on a no deposit bonus?

Check six things: the number and value of spins or the bonus amount, the eligible slot or games, the wagering multiple and what it applies to, the expiry, any maximum win or withdrawal cap, and what you must do before a withdrawal. Also check whether you need to opt in or enter a code at registration.

  1. Value. Multiply the number of spins by the spin value. Twenty spins at £0.10 is £2 of play.
  2. Game. Most free spins work on one slot only. Check it is a game you are happy to play.
  3. Wagering. The UK cap is 10x. Check whether it applies to the winnings or to something else.
  4. Expiry. Note how long you have to use the spins and how long to meet any wagering.
  5. Winnings cap. A maximum amount you can convert or withdraw sets the ceiling on the offer’s value.
  6. Withdrawal conditions. Some casinos ask for a deposit before your first withdrawal to verify a payment method. The terms should say so.

Take a screenshot of the terms on the day you sign up. If there is a disagreement later, a dated copy is useful evidence.

How much is a no deposit bonus really worth?

Work it out in three steps: face value, likely return, and cap. Face value is spins times spin value. Every spin keeps the casino’s edge, so expected winnings are below face value. Then any wagering must be cleared, and any cap limits the top end. The result is usually a few pounds of play, not a windfall.

A simple illustration, not taken from any casino: 20 spins at £0.10 have a face value of £2. Suppose they return £1.50 in winnings. If 10x wagering applies to those winnings, you would need to wager £15 before they become withdrawable, and you could lose some or all of it along the way. If a £20 winnings cap applies, that is the most you could ever take out, however well the spins go.

Step Illustration What to check in real terms
Face value 20 spins x £0.10 = £2 Number of spins and spin value
Spin winnings Say £1.50 (varies every time) Paid as cash or as bonus funds?
Wagering at 10x £15 of wagers to clear The multiple and what it applies to
Game weighting More play if games count below 100 percent The contribution table
Winnings cap Say £20 maximum The maximum win or conversion figure

For more on how multiples work, read our guide to casino wagering requirements.

Six terms to check on a no deposit casino bonus
The six terms that decide what a no deposit offer is worth.

Are free spins no deposit offers in the UK really free?

The spins cost nothing to claim, but the offer is a marketing tool with conditions. The Committee of Advertising Practice has banned gambling licensees from presenting offers as carrying no risk at all, and says “free” claims must not be presented irresponsibly. Read “free” as “no deposit needed to claim”, not “no strings”.

The Gambling Commission noted this concern in its 2025 consultation response. Some respondents worried that the word “free” implies money can be won without risk. The Commission pointed to CAP’s rules and guidance on “free” claims, which apply to gambling advertising.

In practice, the most common cost of a no deposit offer is what happens next. Once the spins are gone, the casino hopes you will deposit. Decide before you sign up whether you intend to deposit at all, and how much.

Do stake limits apply to no deposit spins?

Yes. Online slots are capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over from 9 April 2025, and £2 per spin for players aged 18 to 24 from 21 May 2025. Free spins are set at a fixed value well below these limits, and bonus terms often set a lower maximum stake while wagering is active.

What if a casino refuses to pay no deposit winnings?

Check the terms first: a cap, expired spins, or unmet wagering are the usual reasons. If you believe the terms were applied unfairly, complain to the casino through its complaints process. It has 8 weeks to resolve your complaint. After that, you can take it to a free, independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider.

The Gambling Commission lists bonus offers and terms and conditions among the common types of complaint. It advises you to give the business all the details, including dates, times and amounts, share your evidence, and keep a copy of everything. The casino may issue a deadlock letter confirming you can go to ADR. The Commission also notes that the free online tool Resolver can help you submit a complaint.

How is a no deposit bonus different from a welcome bonus?

A welcome bonus usually needs a qualifying deposit or stake; a no deposit bonus does not. That makes no deposit offers smaller and more tightly capped. Both sit under the same UK rules: wagering of no more than 10x, one product per incentive, and clear, fair terms you can read before you sign up.

  • Cost to claim. None for a no deposit offer; a set deposit and stake for most welcome offers, such as £30 at Unibet.
  • Size. No deposit offers are usually a few pounds of play. Welcome offers are larger because you have put money in.
  • Caps. No deposit winnings are commonly capped. Check any welcome offer for a cap too.
  • Checks. Both need age and identity verification before you play.

Some casinos run both: a small no deposit offer at registration and a separate welcome offer on first deposit. Each must follow the one-product rule on its own. The Commission also bars licensees from increasing an incentive’s value because you hit the qualifying spend faster, so neither offer should reward speed.

Whichever you choose, check that the casino is licensed first. Every site in our table holds an active UKGC remote casino licence that we checked on the public register, and our licence check guide shows you how to confirm any site yourself in a few minutes.

If you only want to try a casino, a no deposit offer lets you see the site, the games and the cashier without paying. If you already plan to deposit, compare the welcome offer on its terms. Our welcome bonus guide shows how.

Where can you find newer no deposit offers?

New casinos sometimes use no deposit offers to attract sign ups, but new does not mean better. Check the licence first, then the terms. Our new no deposit casinos guide explains how to vet a newer site, and our licence check guide shows how to use the public register.

For deposit offers, compare our best casino welcome bonus guide and the no wagering casinos guide. The casino bonuses hub lists every bonus guide, and best online casinos covers the licensed sites we list. The guides hub has the explainers.

Your questions, answered

What is a no deposit casino bonus?

A no deposit casino bonus is an offer credited to a new account without a qualifying deposit, usually free spins on a named slot or a small bonus balance. You must register, pass age and identity checks, and meet any wagering before winnings become withdrawable.

Do I need to verify my ID for a no deposit bonus?

Yes. The Gambling Commission says all online gambling businesses must verify your age and identity before you gamble, and you cannot bet until verified. Many casinos verify electronically using credit reference and electoral roll data; others ask for a passport, driving licence or household bill.

What is the maximum wagering on a UK no deposit bonus?

Since 19 January 2026, wagering on any UK bonus, including no deposit offers, cannot exceed 10 times. A wagering requirement is where you must make wagers totalling a set value before funds become withdrawable. Some no deposit offers have no wagering but cap winnings instead.

Are free spins no deposit offers really free?

They cost nothing to claim, but they come with conditions such as a named slot, expiry, wagering and a winnings cap. CAP has banned gambling licensees from presenting offers as carrying no risk, and says free claims must not be presented irresponsibly. Read free as no deposit needed to claim.

Which casinos in your table offer a no deposit bonus?

None that we have verified. The six welcome offers we read on the operators' own pages on 29 September 2026 (Unibet, Grosvenor, 888casino, LeoVegas, PlayOJO and Sky Casino) all need a deposit, from £10 to £30. Mr Vegas and William Hill Vegas offers are not yet verified.

What if a casino will not pay my no deposit winnings?

Check the terms for a cap, expiry or unmet wagering first. If you think they were applied unfairly, complain to the casino with dates, amounts and screenshots. It has 8 weeks to resolve it, after which you can go to a free, independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider.
